Between ancient walls and timeless views
Today, Ca' del Duca, at 500 meters above sea level, is nestled in the splendid Valtaro landscape. From the west, it offers access to the shady woods and streams of the Apennine ridge and the Ceno Valley; to the northeast, the Parma Hills Ham and Wine Route and the Porcini Mushroom Route. To the south, you can head towards the sea.
Marked trails lead to nearby churches, ancient villages, and castles, such as Compiano Castle and Rocca di Bardi.
The Via Francigena, a historic route, also winds its way, a cultural and artistic heritage and a destination for pilgrims who, out of devotion, departed from Canterbury and headed for Rome.
Nearby, the Ghirardi WWF Wildlife Oasis is rich in fauna and flora, a testament to the ancient agricultural and environmental landscape.
But you can also find an oasis of peace and tranquility by staying at Cà del Duca, staying in rooms with bathrooms and TVs and enjoying organic breakfasts, surrounded by meadows and woods in a welcoming, family atmosphere.
Occasionally, dinner is available at the farmhouse. Menus are at the discretion of the manager, based on seasonality. Price to be negotiated.
